Mascara has come a long way from simple pigment and wax. Our Volumizing Peptide Mascara adds a plant-based peptide complex from pea protein to give lashes care as well as color.
What Is Pea Peptide?
Pea Peptide is derived from Pisum Sativum (pea) protein. Proteins are broken down into smaller pieces called peptides, which are short chains of amino acids. Plant peptides like these are used in hair and lash products to condition the fiber.
What It Does for Lashes
Conditions lashes. Peptides and proteins can bind to the surface of hair fibers, including lashes, helping them feel softer and look healthier.
Supports a fuller look. Coating each lash with a conditioning film helps lashes look thicker and more defined.
Adds flexible hold. In a mascara formula, peptides work with waxes such as carnauba wax to create buildable volume that stays flexible.
Where You'll Find It at True Colour Beauty
The Volumizing Peptide Mascara combines pea peptide with carnauba wax, sunflower seed oil and castor seed oil.
For extra care between makeup days, the Lash Conditioning Serum is designed just for lashes.
How to Use It
Wiggle the brush from the base of your lashes to the tips and add coats as needed. Remove gently at night with the BiPhasic Make-up Remover to avoid pulling on lashes.
What the Research Doesn't Say
There is little published clinical research on pea peptides for lashes specifically. Its role in the mascara is conditioning and appearance. Mascara does not change how lashes grow.
